The temperature’s cooling down and the outdoor market scene is heating up. Here’s a round-up of Dubai’s top outdoor markets.
Ripe markets: Looking for organic produce? Unique home decor and accessories? Christmas gifts in Dubai? Head to one of the Ripe markets for a perfect family day out. Complete with petting zoos for the little ones to free yoga sessions for the mommies, there’s a super cool vibe for a perfect picnic in the park. What’s more? You can find Loboand stalls featuring designer cushion covers, trays, coasters, unique gifts and a range of Arabian inspired home decor ideas at most of the Ripe markets around Dubai. The markets are on at Zabeel Park on Fridays from 9am to 4pm and Al Barsha Pond Park on Saturdays from 10am to 8pm.
The Market at the Beach, JBR: A relatively new market, it’s a popular hotspot among tourists and locals alike. Grab some packed lunch for the day and head out to the beach or browse through the stalls for a unique take on quirky stalls selling everything from gifts to flip-flops and everything in between. Open daily.
Farmer’s Market on the Terrace: Organic food lovers rejoice. This market opens for six months of the year from October to May and offers locally produced organic fruit, vegetables, eggs, herbs, honey and rice. You can also get your hands on some delicious jams, breads and cakes. Located in Bay Avenue at Business Bay, it’s super convenient to reach. One to check out on Fridays; open from 8am to 1 pm.
Family Street Market, Marina Walk: Fancy a walk along the Marina while browsing through a range of eclectic stalls selling everything from Christmas gifts to home decor and accessories? The kids won’t complain with ample activities to keep them occupied from face painting, balloon bending, bubble blowing and more. And when you’re done, you can wind down at one of the endless restaurants – the perfect end to an awesome evening. The markets are on Friday evenings from October.
Seaside Market, Kite Beach: Another popular market held in the idyllic Kite Beach. Enjoy the laid back atmosphere as you stroll through the shops looking for a bargain on anything from beach accessories to home décor and much, much more. Live entertainment and free exercise classes also on if you need more reason to check it out. On every Friday and Saturday during season time.
